TV Alert! Fakie on Good Morning Connecticut

WTNH's "Good Morning Connecticut" featured the YA novel, Fakie, in a piece on inspirational books for young readers. The segment originally aired Saturday, January 23rd, and is now available online.

Want to connect with Fakie's author,  Tony Varrato? You can catch him at the 2010 Teen Author Carnival in New York City on May 24th at the Jefferson Market Branch Library. He will also appear at the Norfolk Public Library's 16th Annual Literature Festival on Saturday, July 31st, in Omaha, Nebraska, in conjunction with the state's Children's Choice Literary Award, the Golden Sower. Fakie is currently on the Golden Sower shortlist for 2010-2011.

Fakie was published by Lobster Press in the spring of 2008. This action-packed novel about a teen in the witness protection program was selected for the 2009 YALSA Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers list, was selected by the Nova Scotia Department of Education for their Literacy Success Infusion program, and has been praised by Booklist, Library Media Connection, and teensreadtoo.
